Slalom Pro Chassis

The chassis is made from lightweight Aluminium in an oval shape, its weight without the wheels is just 8kgs. The wheels have a quick release system and smart aluminum look, low profile pneumatic tyres and a compact pump is found in the shopping basket.

Adjustable suspension on the rear wheels will ensure baby has a comfortable ride whatever the terrain. The 273mm diameter wheels have a simple quick release to make the fold very compact. On the front easy-steer mono fork wheel you will find a powerful disc brake correcting your speed while travelling downhill, this is controlled by a handle brake lever, the main parking brakes are applied with a single foot pedal. The front wheel can be used as a swivel wheel while in town but if you wish to travel over sand or gravel or maybe woodland paths it can easily be locked into a fixed forward position.

Under the chassis you will find a small shopping basket with reflective accents for additional safety on winter evenings.

The handle has 4 adjustments to suit most people comfortably, and the catches to release the chassis locks for folding are found as the handle bar meets the hood, saving unnecessary bending.

Pro System

The new Pro system is the way that any additional parts are fixed to the chassis, when the bumper bar is removed from the chassis it reveals two large holes that allows the simple one-handed fitting and locking into place of the Jane Capazo Carrycot, Strata car seat, or the Matrix Cup lie flat car seat. These can be purchased at the same time as the Slalom or purchased separately as your needs change.

Slalom Pro Seat unit

The seat unit can be fully reclined for a newborn and the footplate can be adjusted to a comfortable position for baby or toddler. You will find a full 5-point harness for security and a bumper bar for your toddler to hang on to while you are travelling at speed. The new winter hood covers more of the child's body, not only good for winter but as a sun shade during the summer, the back panel can be removed to give a constant flow of fresh air while still giving sun protection from above.

All the fabric is removable for washing or if you are using the chassis with the Capazo carrycot, protecting the fabrics until they are required.

The seat is sufficiently wide to accommodate a toddler wearing the thickest of winter clothing and a comfortable 100% cotton seat pad has been included to ensure total comfort.

Strata Car Seat

The Strata car seat has been developed to allow the youngest of babies to travel in a safe reclined position in the car, with an adjustable backrest angle.

With the health as important a factor when considering a car seat as safety Jane have developed the Strata car seat to be the answer to parents who wish to have the best of both worlds.

For the complete wellbeing of baby the internal base of the Strata is adjustable from a 125 degree angle to 100 degrees after baby reaches four months. The flatter angle allows for the perfect pulmonary development of the newborn. As baby grows the backrest is adjusted, increasing the angle and automatically adjusting the harness.

The Strata has a comfortable carry handle with a simple press button handle adjustment and and an even easier click system allowing it to be placed on and removed from any of the Jane chassis when used as part of a travel system. A very straight forward and easy to use system.

The padded seat pad is made of 100% cotton to ensure the comfort of baby and the seat has ventilation holes to prevent overheating. The sun canopy has a music pod included to entertain and relax baby with melodies and pleasant sounds. For those summer afternoons an insect net is included with the canopy which also has a clear viewing window for parents too keep an eye on baby.

A name tag is also included to ensure that your seat does not become mixed-up with another while at nursery.

5 Point Harness

The Strata car seat includes a 5 point harness unlike most baby car seats that have just a 3 point harness, the additional harness will help to keep baby securely in place during an impact. The harness is easily adjusted for each journey with a single one-pull adjustment; you should just be able to get two fingers between your baby's shoulder and the harness. Padding on the shoulder straps will help to absorb any impact, when it is necessary to adjust the shoulder strap height this can be achieved without the need of undoing and rethreading the harness - a real bonus.

Safety

The seat has been developed by Jane using their 'state of the art' Test Research Center and has been tested to ensure the highest levels of safety are achieved. The headrest area has double protection - with the headrest and the outer frame both being made from high resistance polypropylene with energy absorbing material on the parts that come into contact with baby.

Fitting Into The Car

The Strata car seat is fitted into the car - rear facing at all times using the adult 3 point seat belt or using the optional Isofix base. Never fit a child car seat into the front seats of a car if an active air bag is fitted.

Seat Belt Fitting

The adult 3 point seat belt is used with the lap section being placed through a groove on the under side of the seat marked clearly with a blue plastic guide. Having the belt under the seat allows baby to kick and move feet and legs unrestricted, this also requires less seat belt so makes it possible to fit into cars with short seat belts. The diagonal seat belt is also placed through a blue guide and can be locked into position to ensure a secure fit

Optional Isofix Base

An optional base for the fitting of the Strata will make it possible to simply clip the seat in and out of the car. The Isofix base is very different to any other Isofit system, as is fitted with a pneumatic system to absorb any impact. The G force on to baby's body is greatly reduced using this system compared to a rigid fit Isofix fitting system.
