Bambino Merino Baby Sleeping Bag - One Size Baby Sleeping Bag Fits 3 Months To 2 Years
These lovely baby sleeping bags from British company Bambino Merino are made from high quality 100% natural merino wool from New Zealand.
Unlike most sleeping bags, these are one size and can last your baby from the age of approximately 3 months to 24 months. This is because they have an adjustable armhole, which can be reduced in size with poppers, to fit smaller babies.
With most baby sleeping bags you may need different ones at various times of the year with different tog ratings. With the Bambino Merino products, you don't need to worry about togs, as the sleeping bags will be the right temperature all the year round, because of the properties of the merino wool. (More details below.) So although these sleeping bags may initially seem a little more pricey, you will get a lot of use out of them.
The sleeping bags are gorgeously soft and silky, thanks to the Merino wool, the Rolls-Royce of wools! The benefits of Merino wool are well known in New Zealand, but products made from the wool are not widely available yet in the British market.
Merino wool is a breathable, natural fabric, which won't scratch or itch delicate skin or skin with excema. It has amazing natural thermal properties which help babies to regulate their body temperature, keeping them cool in summer and warm in winter.
The wool is a breathable fibre, that creates a microclimate around baby's body, circulating or trapping air as required to regulate body temperature throughout the night. So your baby won't be waking up cold in the early hours. In high summer a cotton vest of even just a nappy is perfect under the sleeping bag. In winter, parents may like to dress baby in a long sleeved vest and sleepsuit.
The wool is lightweight and capable of holding three times its weight in moisture without feeling wet to the touch. In warm weather it draws excess moisture away from baby's skin, and releases it into the atmosphere. In cooler months, it holds a layer of warm air around baby's body, preventing heat from being lost. Care of your sleeping bag:
The sleeping bags are machine washable and can be tumble dried on a low heat. Merino wool is naturally odour resistant so requires less washing than other fabrics. Colours The sleeping bags are available in one design, with narrow stripes, in a choice of four colours - sage, sand, petal and sky.
The Bambino Merino sleeping bags were awarded Best Buy by Practical Parenting Magazine in February 2008.
