The sun is a real danger to the delicate skin of young children, fabrics can give very different levels of protection, the fabric used in the production the Second Skins/Activ Skins has been approved by the South African Cancer Association as the highest rated UPF 50, this will keep out over 98% of UV radiation.
The NScessity Second Skins/Activ Skins are manufactured in South Africa to the highest standard, the design protects the child's torso, coming high on the neck without being tight to cause discomfort, covers the shoulders, having short sleeves and covering upper thighs.
The only opening is at the crutch so the suit cannot be pulled open by the toddler while playing, leaving delicate skin exposed. Nappy changes can also be done easily without exposing skin to the sun, swim nappies can also be worn under the Popper Suit.
The Oeko Tex Association is an internationally recognized research organization which tests fabrics to ensure that they are totally safe for us to wear. All Activ Skins fabrics have undergone this rigorous testing and carry certification to prove it.
