Ordering and Delivery

When it comes to deliveries, we know how much the detail matters. That’s why we only use the best couriers in the business. So you can be sure your order from Olivers will reach you on time and in one piece. And should the unexpected happen, you can rely on us to sort it out.

We provide free delivery to the UK mainland on orders over £100.00 (that do not include specialist furniture items). We use a variety of couriers including DPD, Business Post and Fedex, and also the Post Office for smaller items. Our couriers endeavour to make all deliveries to addresses on the UK mainland (south of Aberdeen) the next working day from dispatch. Smaller items dispatched from us will be sent via 1st Class Royal Mail, and so you will not need to be at home to sign for these items. We will e-mail you to let you know that your parcels are en route. Please note that couriered items are delivered between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
Credit Card Security
Olivers Babycare uses one of the largest and most respected payment card processing systems in the UK, Sagepay - and we are also now pleased to offer PayPal. Both companies process payments on behalf of Olivers and make sure that your transaction details are kept completely secure throughout the transaction process. To further enhance security online the Olivers Babycare website and database do not hold your credit card details at all – this is in line with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) regulations. PCI DSS was founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa, Inc. It is the latest and highest standard in the protection of customers using their credit cards online.

Olivers Babycare also uses MasterCard’s ‘SecureCode’ and Visa’s ‘Verified by Visa’. The service is called 3D Secure and it allows much better authentication of the payment card holder by their card issuer, when making purchases online from a web site. If you have registered for 3D Secure, during the checkout process you will be asked to enter a pin to use this service. Customers who are not registered for 3D Secure will not be asked to complete this step. Olivers Babycare is proud to be using the latest technology for the protection of its valued customers.
We are able to offer an AM service with the courier DPD at a small additional cost, allowing you to plan your day with the knowledge that your parcels will arrive before midday.

Before the delivery, you will be contacted by email by DPD offering you the chance to alter the delivery day should the next day not be convenient. If you are out when your parcel is delivered you will be left a card which will allow you to have the parcel delivered the following day at no additional charge.

Should you want to change the delivery address or select an upgraded service before 10.00 AM, you will be charged a small additional fee (around £12.00) paid directly to DPD.

If your goods are urgent or required by a specific date we recommend you check our stock availability by calling or emailing our sales team prior to ordering. (Please see our contacts page.) This will avoid any unnecessary disappointment and please bear in mind that stock levels change from hour to hour.

Highlands and UK Islands
For the Highlands and UK Islands we use a 2 day courier service. Please note there is no AM service available for these areas.
If a product is marked 2-3 days this is normally from stock and may well be with you the very next day. Indeed at Olivers Babycare we endeavour to keep most items in stock as we have extensive storage facilities in Devon. However, in order to give you the best choice of styles, sizes and colours, especially on larger items, we may need to order the product directly from our supplier. This will be made clear on the typical delivery times stated with the product, you will also be notified of the approximate delivery date by e-mail.

Please note that we use both the Sagepay and PayPal payment systems. We do not take any funds from your account until the goods are ready for despatch unless we are requested to do so by the customer.
Postage charges for the UK Highlands & Islands and Overseas vary according to weight and volume. With multiple items fitting within a box it is impossible for us to predict the exact carriage charge that is applied to your order. On occasions, some items may be packed in multiple boxes, for example a cot and mattress is 1 box, but a ‘travel system’ will be at least 2 boxes. However as a guide, and based on previous orders, we can provide the following approximate costs for delivery.

Delivery charge for a standard size box:
Highlands and Scottish Islands £15.00 on a 2 working day service
Northern Ireland, Eire & Channel Islands £20.00 on a 2 working day service
Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands & Luxembourg £21 on a 2/3 working day service Austria, Switzerland & Denmark £24.00 on a 3/4 working day service
Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia & Spain £26.00 on a 3/4 working day service
Greece, Romania, Latvia and Bulgaria £41.00 on a 5/9 day service
Estonia, Finland, Hungry, Poland, Portugal, Sweden & Slovenia £31.00 on a 4/5 working day service
For those outside the EEC there will be an additional customs charge of £25.00, but this maybe offset by the reduction of any UK VAT applied to the order. We are very sorry but we are currently unable to ship to the USA or Canada.

If you would like to know the carriage cost of your non mainland UK postage before putting your order through, please email us. You can send an email to emily@olivers-baby-care.co.uk with a list of the items you require. She will be happy to provide you with a more definitive cost for delivery.

UK Highlands, Islands and rest of the World (excluding USA and Canada)
For orders going outside the UK Mainland area, you may prefer to put your order through with carriage to be confirmed, (TBC). This is no problem; the order will be passed to our delivery manager who will confirm the costs of the carriage via an email. As soon as we have received your reply the order will be processed.

Shipping Charges
Cost of shipping will not appear on the checkout page or on your confirmation email. This will be calculated and emailed to you within 3 working days. We will not take any payment from your payment card until we have received confirmation from you that you accept these charges.

If you live in the Hampshire area you may prefer to go to our store in Winchester to collect the item that you have ordered from us online. There are two payment options in these circumstances: You can pay online in the normal way, and simply collect your item from our store. Or you can pay for your item in our Winchester store when you collect it. Payment can be via card or cash. When you order the item on our website, you will need to put in your card details but we will not take any money. On Receipt of the Goods

If in the unlikely event you are unhappy with the contents of your order on receipt, please contact us as soon as possible to allow us the opportunity to resolve the problem.

Please inspect all goods when they are delivered to you. If the packaging is clearly damaged on arrival, please mark ‘Box damaged’ on the courier’s delivery record. If any items included on your delivery note are missing from the delivery, please notify Olivers Babycare as soon as possible.

Where goods are found to be faulty on receipt, we will arrange for collection and arrange a replacement item/part at no extra cost to you.


14 Day ‘No Quibble Guarantee’

If you receive your order in good condition but you consider any item to be unsuitable, you can return it within 14 days. This 14 day ‘no quibble guarantee’ is in addition to any manufacturer’s guarantee.

Please return all packaging, along with the unused goods you wish to return. The goods will need to be packaged securely to allow them to arrive back with us in perfect condition. We can arrange the return carriage at your cost if required.

When returning any goods, it would be most helpful if you could provide your receipt and a brief letter explaining why you are returning the goods. This can be included with the goods. Failure to comply with this may result in unnecessary delays in processing any refund or exchange.

Any refunds due to the customer will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the goods by Olivers Babycare, as per Distance Selling Regulations.

Please note that the use of Buggy Boards on any pushchair will automatically make any guarantee with manufacturer and retailer alike null and void, and therefore any damages resulting from the use of these will not be repaired free of charge, and will incur additional carriage fees.

We regret that we cannot offer refunds on bespoke or made-to-measure items or pre-cut fabrics. When ordering assembled furniture please check that access to your premises will accommodate delivery (extra charges may be made if sufficient access is not available on delivery).

All guarantees are effective from the date of delivery.


Failure within the Guarantee Period

Proof of purchase is required before warranty repairs can be accepted.
Where goods fail during the guarantee period, we will arrange for collection and, on inspection, if the fault is confirmed to be due to a manufacturing defect, we will arrange repair (or replacement if the goods cannot be repaired). If however, the fault is found to be due to normal wear and tear, misuse or accidental damage, we will provide a quote for rectifying the problem and you will be responsible for meeting the cost of carriage charges and repair.
