The solid end style of the Stratford cotbed is perfect for sleeping baby in the 'feet to foot' position now recommended by many midwives and health visitors, this helps to prevent baby from being able to slip under the bedding and possibly overheating.
The Stratford Cotbed mattress base is used in the highest position for the young baby with the lower positions becoming necessary as the child starts to move around and stand.

To the top rail of the Stratford sides has been fitted a protective teething rail, this prevents the wood from becoming damaged.
