What do we look for when selecting brands of prams, pushchairs and buggies?
After the initial look at style, fabrics, features we will then look at the back-up offered by the manufacturer in the event of something going wrong with the pram - i.e. spares and repair facilities.
Parents, rightly expect the buggy they choose to do a substantial job of moving a baby, child, possibly even children and shopping, school bags etc. from A to B for a number of years. The poor pram will rarely get a clean or any lubrication to keep the wheels in good order, but it is expected to keep going.
Guaranteed Prams
If something goes wrong - this could be a manufacturing defect, or from damage caused by misuse or accident - buggies often have to cope with the rigors of air travel and conveyer belts, baggage handlers - It is hoped that spares or repairs will not cause a pram or buggy to be out of use for too long.
When looking at brands from around the world it is good to think about the culture of the country it is designed for, Spanish and Italian buggies always look great with a lot of attention to detail, colours and design. The buggies and prams from France will have the comfort of the child and longevity of use; the French seem to expect one pram to do the whole family. American buggies will not fold particularly compactly as the cars that they drive are generally larger than in the U.K.
