Stylish nursing cover, from the American company Bebe au Lait. The cover, with its tongue-in-cheek name Hooter Hider, is a favourite with Hollywood celebrity mums such as Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and Gwen Stefani, and has been featured in top US publications such as Vanity Fair.

The Hooter Hider was designed by Claire Ekelund, who was frustrated at being unable to find a stylish and discreet way to breastfeed her baby daughter in public. The only nursing covers she could find were clinical and impractical, so she decided to design her own. The Hooter Hider, so called by an outspoken male friend, was an instant success when it hit the market.

Hooter Hiders - Chic and Practical Design

Unlike most nursing covers, the Hooter Hider has a rigid top edge which holds it away from mum's neck. This allows mother and baby to have eye contact while baby is feeding. The cover has a soft strap which fits around mum's neck and can be adjusted to get the best viewing angle and most comfortable nursing position. At the lower edge of the cover, there is a terry cloth pocket, perfect for keeping spare breast pads or a muslin.
