We are a family company specialising in high quality baby products. We
set up Olivers Babycare in 1993 following the birth of our second
daughter, Laura, who arrived at just 32 weeks. This caught us out in
more ways than one! At the very least, we had not purchased many of
the essential items for our new baby.
Our experiences in the ensuing weeks gave us the inspiration for
Olivers Babycare. We were unable to find many of the products we
needed locally in Winchester, so we set up our own shop named after
its location at Olivers Battery. We sold prams, cots, highchairs, the
sort of bulky essential items you need for a baby.
Soon the message about Olivers Babycare was travelling beyond
Winchester and in 2002 we decided to boost the business with its own
website. With a few more years under our belts, the business began to
outgrow its nest. In 2007 we relocated the website operation to
purpose built premises with its own modern warehouse in Devon. This
has allowed us to increase the range of products that we sell, and to
improve our customer service even further. We now deliver baby
products throughout the U.K. and to countries all around the world.
Both our daughters, Emily and Laura, are now involved with the family
business, and like us, they feel privileged to help other families as
new babies arrive and parents choose the best products for their child.
We think we must be doing something right, as happy customers in
Winchester and much further afield are still naming their babies
‘Oliver’ as a way of saying thank you!

everything from the well known brands such as Maclaren, Britax,
Cosatto, Maxi Cosi and Jane to the more niche brands, such as Phil &
Teds, Izziwotnot, Emma Jane, Baby Bjorn and Kids Line. We also source
many inspirational new items produced by smaller companies in the UK
and across Europe. We only sell baby products that we trust, and think
that you will like.

The Baby Products Association
The Baby Products Association is the voice of the nursery and
childcare products industry in the UK. Set up in 1945, the BPA aims to
promote the baby products sector within the UK marketplace, as well as
ensuring the safety of products for consumers. The BPA keeps its
members up to date with any issues affecting the industry, and when
appropriate, represents the industry in discussions with the
government, the EU and elsewhere. Increasingly, the BPA is playing an
active role in the development of new products, and its
representatives sit on a large number of committees and working groups
within Europe and the BSI (which sets British Safety Standards).
The section of the BPA that represents and supports retailers within
the industry is known as BPA Retail. Olivers Babycare is a proud to be
a member of BPA Retail. Like other members, Olivers has had to show
that it offers exceptional service to its customers and clients, and
has excellent working relationships with its suppliers.
Federation of Small Businesses
Olivers Babycare is a member of the Federation of Small Businesses. The FSB was set up in 1974 and aims to promote and protect the interests of the self employed and owners of small businesses. It is a non profit making and non political organisation.
