Stage 1, 2 And 3 Toddler And Child Car Seat
The Young Sport adapts to your child as they grow starting from 9kgs around 1 year with a 5-point harness to 12 years using the adult seat belt.
The Young Style from Recaro, is a slim-profile seat, that will fit many different vehicles including those with sculptured seats. It is adaptable for children from 9kgs (around 1 year) with a five-point harness to keep the toddler securely in place changing to a booster seat with adjustable back from 15kgs around (5 years) up to around 12 years.
Toddler 9 to 18kgs
The seat has been thoroughly tested and has excellent side impact protection as well as exceeding the required impact protection on the child’s chest and head. As the child grows the headrest can be raised as you do this, the harness is automatically adjusted giving optimum protection. The harness has chest pads attached to the harness these pads help to dissipate any impact, they are made from a gripping fabric helping to keep them safely in the optimum position. The harness has a one-pull harness adjustment making it easy to have the harness at the correct size for every journey. A padded cushion in the seat reduces the seat size for the toddler, it is removed as the child grows although it may need to be replaced after potty training for a short while.
The Young Sport is fitted using the adult 3-point adult seat belt and requires a short mounting for the receiver, ideally those recessed within the vehicles seat fabric.
A recline position is achieved by releasing the adult belt and rotating the large black buttons at the side of the seat, once in the reclined position the adult belt must be tightened and locked again.
From 15 to 36kgs
It is recommended to keep the child in the 5-point harness until 18kgs although the seat can be used without the harness from 15kgs, the seat is then a booster seat with a back offering all the side impact protection the child had when secured in the seat with the harness. The seat will continue to grow guiding the seat belt away from the child’s face keeping it in the optimum position on the shoulder.
The deep sides on the base will give protection to hips that many seats do not protect, the recline feature can also be used when the seat is used without the harness making it possible for an older child to take a nap.
The Young Sport is available in two fabric options both can be machine washed at 30 degrees, this is the Micofibre a velvet-like fabric and comes in a choice of three colours.
