Adaptable car seat, suitable for children from 9kgs until around 12 years, a five point harness keeps young child securely in place
The Recaro Young Sport will change and adapt to accommodate your child from around 1 year (9kgs) to around 12 years or 150cm tall.
Toddler seat
When used for the toddler the minimum child weight is 9kgs the seat is fitted into the vehicle forward facing, fitted with the adult 3-point seat belt. The child is secured in to the seat using a 5-point harness; this harness has a single-pull adjustment to ensure a correct fit on every journey. The protection offered by the Young Sport exceeds the current standard for head and chest impact and performs excellently in side impacts.
A padded cushion reduces the seat size for the younger child, the harness is padded from shoulder to abdomen with fabric that helps grip the child’s clothing.
Child Car seat
Once the child weighs a minimum of 15kgs the seat can be used without the harness as a boost seat, the back remains in place offering excellent side impact protection. The back can be raised as the child grows this also guides the adult seat belt away from the child’s face keeping it in the optimum position on the child’s shoulder. The seat belt will be free running at this time so it is important to explain that the child must sit sensibly to use the seat in this way. The seat can be used in the recline position, allowing the child to sleep without the risk of falling out of the seat belt.
The Young Sport is available in two fabric options. Both can be machine washed at 30 degrees. This is the Bellini, a suede like fabric which comes in a choice of three colours.
