Wilkinet
The Wilkinet is the product of a mother who was unable to find a solution to carrying her baby close to her body that would not cause pain and discomfort to herself and that would provide baby with the best support possible.
Sally Wilkins produced a soft rucksack for her third child Gideon and sent it to the then chairwoman of the NCT, who was also a physiotherapist and anti natal teacher, she explained although it was comfortable it was not offering the correct support to baby’s back and pelvic area. Sally went back to the drawing board knowing what was required; by the time her forth baby was born in 1981 the prototype Wilkinet was ready to be ‘perfected’.
It is from this prototype the Wilkinet of today has evolved, with Gideon Wilkins working passionately to move the Wilkinet company forward.
