Wardrobes & Chest of Drawers
Along with the cot, the wardrobe and chest of drawers will be invaluable pieces of furniture - your child's collection of outfits, shoes, jackets and Grobags just seem to go on growing and for some reason either they, or you, never want to pass on those special items, they all need storage space.
When choosing a chest it may well be that it doubles up as the changing unit for those first couple of years, so check the height is comfortable for you. Deep drawers will be able to consume a huge amount of vests, socks and babygrows while baby is small, and an older child will soon fill the space.
Adjustable Wardrobes
Wardrobes designed for babies and children will generally give you two hanging rails one below the other for use while the outfits are short, then when necessary the lower rail is removed giving a full length hanging space - clever!
Any glass used in children's furniture has to be safety glass protecting baby should an accident happen.
