Slings & Hip Carriers
Slings & Hip Carriers
Hip carriers are normally used for baby from the time they are starting to support their own head, until around 3 to 4 years. Using a hip seat will help maintain the spine in a straight position rather than the very poor position that can easily be taken-up when carrying a child on the hip. The Hippy Chick Hip Seat is highly recommended by chiropractors and osteopaths. The use of the hip carrier is not exclusively outdoors but can be worn around the home to protect the spine at all times.
Baby Slings
Wearing a sling will maintain a reclined and comfortable position for baby when young and will normally adapt to become a hip carrier for the older baby and young child. A sling will generally be worn over one shoulder allowing the parent to adjust it for a comfortable fit while moving around or while seated. A sling is also very useful for discreet breast feeding while out together.
