The Renaissance is now one of just a few seats that can be fitted using a lap belt, making it possible to use the middle seat position in many makes of the car keeping baby away from any side impacts. The seat has been fitted with a pitch control that will reduce any forward movement during any impact giving better protection to the upper body. The seat sides have deep padding on the side wings, this helps to absorb the impact of the child hitting the side of the seat during side impacts.
The renaissance has a unique tensioner system (the lever is at the front of the seat) that helps to ensure a secure fit with the minimum effort; or in cars that it would otherwise be almost impossible to tension the seat belts. The routing of the seat belt is through a carefully designed path that allows greater compatibility with vehicles – even those with awkwardly placed anchorage points.

The renaissance Si has been fitted with the Adjusta-Fit system from Britax, this allows the harness and headrest to be moved, as the child grows, without the need to undo the harness.
The five-point harness has padding on the shoulder straps for added comfort and safety - the one-pull tensioner makes sure the harness can be correctly tightened for every journey. The Renaissance can be reclined to a choice of 5 positions for maximum comfort to the child, this can be altered with a simple one-hand adjustment on the front of the seat.
The seat cover is removable for washing – although the Renaissance Si must never be used without the cover, if you are worried about protecting the fabric during potty training a ‘piddle pad’ can be purchased to fit in the seat, this is made from absorbent terry towelling with a waterproof barrier.
No child car seat should be used with a passenger air bag, unless the vehicle manufacturer confirms it is safe to do so.
We have found that the Renaissance is one of the few seats that will fit securely in the 'new' Mini but as it is quite large and quite heavy it is not one to be moved from car to car too often.
