The Maxi Cosi Priori XP car seat is suitable for a baby from 9kg to 18 kg. This is around 1 year to 4 years but the baby must weigh the minimum weight and be sitting unaided to be placed in any forward facing car seat.
The Priori car seat is fitted into the vehicle using the adult 3 point seat belt, once in place a tensioning arm is deployed to ensure the seat belt is taut giving a firm, secure fit.
A pair of clips on the side of the Priori will hold the harness to the side making it easy to place the child in the seat; the harness has a simple one pull adjustment for a snug fit whatever the child should be wearing. It should be just possible to place two fingers under the harness at the point the harness goes over the child’s shoulder to get the best possible protection. The height of the harness can be easily adjusted as the child grows without the need to remove the seat cover or undo the harness system.
The Priori XP can be placed in any of the four recline positions without disturbing the child with a simple one-hand lever on the front of the seat.
We have always liked this seat for it's ease of fitting. It requires very little 'muscle' to fit it in the car correctly, it fits the vast majority of cars and when fitted correctly is 'Rock Solid'.
