Seat unit
The hood is where this buggy stands out from the crowd, to the top is a docking station for your iPod or iPod Nano this will then play through the amplifier to a pair of stereo speakers in the hood, this could be favourite nursery rhymes, music or calming sounds, perhaps the sound heartbeat for a newborn baby. The volume is adjusted with a simple touch control on the hood, the Pico iPod has to be the ultimate pram for music lovers. We all know that baby becomes familiar with music heard while in the womb so continuing to play the same music can help baby with the transition into the outside world.
The seat unit has all round padding with a five point harness to keep baby or toddler safe and secure. The footrest can be adjusted to a number of positions as can the seat from a fully reclined position suitable for a newborn baby to an up-right position for a toddler. The height adjustable, removable front bumper bar will give a place for the securing of toys.
Chassis
The weight of the complete Pico with the seat unit is 11.8kg, the handle is height adjustable, from 92cm to 106cm making it a comfortable pushchair to walk with whatever your height. The 16cm wheels will not puncture as they are fitted with an air chamber – this system has no inner tubes, but still gives a comfortable ride. The pair of front wheels are fitted with smooth swivels that can be locked for rougher terrain. The rear wheels have been fitted with a ‘softfix’ brake that can be easily activated even with open-toe sandals. A large shopping basket has been fitted below the buggy to ensure you have sufficient carrying capacity when out shopping or just having fun, this is definitely a fun piece of equipment.
Accessories
Should you wish to have your newborn baby face you, a soft carrycot –Cosycocoon 2 in 1 is available as an optional accessory, this is used with the seat unit fully reclined, with the Pico hood placed in the reverse position, creating a snug comfortable rear facing pram.
When you have finished with the soft carrycot, the Cosycocoon 2 in 1 will then be able to be transformed into a cosy toes for use during the winter. A comfortable car seat is available, as an option, to create a travel system; the E-Care car seat is available in black or white to match the Pico iPod.
The changing bag to co-ordinate is in the backpack style with a large range of pockets to the inside and out with places for bottles, phone, nappies and special comforters. The substantial raincover has zip opening windows to prevent the need to remove the whole raincover when going inside.We do this to stop baby over heating when moving into the warm from a cold outdoors.
