The first off road buggy or all terrain buggies began to arrive in the UK from America in the early 90s, we remember ours fondly, small very lightweight solid rubber tyres no reclining seat, a raincover was an optional extra and the fold was awful - we concluded that with the size of American cars a small fold was not a requirement.

What it did do was allow us to go anywhere, the beach and the woods; almost any terrain was covered without a problem.

Since then all-terrain buggies have moved on - some concentrating on style while others still have the all-terrain concept in mind. Available with either three or four wheels, with fixed or steerable wheels, some off road prams are very light others rather more heavy.

Buying Off Road Prams

We would seriously suggest that when you are choosing your buggy sit down first with a pen and paper and make a list. What you want to do with your pushchair and where you want it to go, fixed or swivel wheel, how much space you have at home or in the car.
