Twin Pushchairs
A dilemma that has always been with parents of either twins or of an older child and new baby - What pram do I choose? In years past the double buggies on offer have always been big, heavy, hard to push, difficult to fold, but it is pleasing to say that things are improving.
Side By Side Double Buggy
There are no set rules as to which type of twin pram you should have, do you prefer the idea of your children sitting next to each other, or would you be happy to have baby near you and the older child sitting at the front of a tandem style buggy.
Side by side, obviously makes your pram wider, but as shop doors now have to be sufficiently wide enough to allow wheelchair access you will find the side-by-side buggy should fit comfortably.
In a side by side twin pram children sit closely together and this can be an advantage or disadvantage depending on the individuals and the age difference - you will know your toddler!
Choosing a double buggy with a single handle, rather than individual pram handles, will mean your toddler can walk when they want to, as you will be able to hold a hand and push the buggy.
Tandem Twin Pram
The tandem will give a narrow profile but in almost all cases the heavier child will be seated at the front, which doesn't help with manoeuvres especially up and down kerbs (or your back if you are quite short yourself). Quite often there is a time when the baby is too long to lie flat in the back seat, but too small to sit up.
