Supersoft Cuddly Lambskin Fleece
Once you’ve got a lambskin for your baby, you will wonder how you ever managed without one. These fleeces, available with either long or short hair, are gorgeously soft and cuddly and make marvellous comforters for a baby or young child. Using a lambskin is one of the best ways of soothing a baby and promoting restful sleep. The skins can be used anywhere and everywhere – in baby’s bed, buggy, playpen, or just on the floor. Definitely a must-have for all new mums, and a perfect gift for a new baby.
High Quality and Natural
The fleeces are 100% natural and come from New Zealand where they are manufactured by long-established and highly respected company Bowron Sheepskins. Bowron estimate that a million babies in the last 20 years have used their lambskin fleeces. That’s a million happy babies! Only the finest quality sheepskins are chosen by Bowron. These are treated using the most advanced environmentally sensitive technology. They are then finished by hand.
Why is sheepskin so good for babies?
Apart from being incredibly soft and fluffy, (both the short and long haired sheepskins), the wool fibres keep baby warm and cosy in cold weather and cool in hot weather. The wool naturally absorbs any moisture away from baby, releasing it into the air ensuring baby stays comfortable and dry at all times. There are no pressure points to cause discomfort, and new delicate hair is not so prone to rubbing off. The fleeces are incredibly hard wearing and versatile, as well as being light weight. They are also ‘self-sanitizing’, which means they will not need much washing. (See care instructions below.)
Use at bedtime … or anywhere
Babies and children will just love the feel of the natural wool fibres. The familiar smell and texture of the lambskin will help them feel secure and comforted. Take the lambskin with you wherever you go! The fleece can be used in a stroller, bassinette, crib, playpen or simply on the floor and of course in the bed (under the sheet for a newborn). Suitable from birth.
My 19 year old daughter has insisted on taking her original fleece off to college with her and we all know how well and how long students sleep for!
Care
Daily airing will keep the lambskin fresh. Sponge off small, lightly soiled areas and towel dry where necessary. A complete wash is recommended monthly if using the lambskin for a baby. The lambskins can be brushed lightly after washing to help restore their soft, fluffy appearance. Wash using a mild liquid household detergent in warm water (max 38C or 100F). If washing in a machine, use a 'minimum' or 'wool' cycle. Do not use soap or washing powders containing enzymes or bleach or fabric softeners. Rinse thoroughly in warm water. Line dry or tumble dry on 'cool' or 'warm' setting. Keep out of direct sunlight when drying. The lambskins can also be dry cleaned.
Also available from Bowron, the 'Strollerfleece', a shaped, short haired fleece for car seats and buggies. See Prams and Pushchairs Category, 'Accessories'.
