The Recaro Monza Seatfix can be fitted into your car using the Isofix arms that are integrated into the base of the seat or it can be used with the 3 point adult seat belt.
Many new cars are fitted with Isofix points as standard - this allows the child seat to be securely fitted to the chassis of the car. Using these Isofix points with a stage 2 or 3 seat will improve the performance of the seat during a side impact and will ensure the safety of other passengers if the seat is not being used at the time of the accident.(it will not fly through the car and hit front seat occupants)
The Monza is an all new seat to the Recaro collection introduced for 2008 with many features previously not found on this stage seat, the head rest is fitted with an air filled cushion, this is simply pumped up from the side of the seat, with a release valve to make a perfectly comfortable head support cushion. The head rest also contains speakers, these can be attached directly into the in- car entertainment system or maybe an MP3 player eradicating the need for head phones. A pocket on the side of the seat has been designed for the storage of the child’s personal MP3 player (not supplied) keeping it handy for every journey.
The foam used in the building of the Monza seat is ventilated to prevent overheating - the large fixed wings give lumber support and added side protection.
The child is secured into the seat using the adult 3 point seat belt - the belt is routed though a guide on the headrest to ensure the seat belt is held in the correct position across the body. As the headrest is adjusted using the new ‘elevenfold’ adjustment system with size scale the seat belt automatically adjusts.
The Monza can of course be used in a car that is not fitted with Isofix mountings by simply using the car's 3-point seat belts.
