Reusable & Washable Nappies
Why would anyone with all the extra work that a baby brings even think of washing nappies? When the reasons are put down on paper it is easy to see why many mums are returning to traditional nappies instead of using disposable diapers.
Low Cost Nappies
The cost in money for traditional disposable nappies is around £1,300 to £1,500 per baby - this is of course spent again and again for subsequent babies. On the other hand the cost of purchasing washable nappies ranges from around £75 to around £300.
The Kushies Nappy Company has worked out that this amounts to a saving of £1,000 per baby, taking into account the nappies soak and laundry costs. If you then have another baby the initial purchase cost has already been made, the only out lay will be for laundry costs.
Environmentally Friendly Baby Products
Although many of us recycle our household waste the majority of disposable nappies are sent to land fill sites. Whilst there are still times when using disposable nappies are the best option, reusable nappies help you care for your baby whilst caring for the environment.
Fresh Smelling Nappies
When using washable nappies you will generally use a flushable liner, this takes the solid waste and easily allows it to be flushed away- it will completely break down even if you are not on a main sewerage system. The wet nappy will have little or no smell and is then dropped into a bucket of sanitising solution - no smell is left in the house.
No Nappy Pins
There are many ways of securing nappies without the need for pins; Velcro, poppers or nappy nippas. Reusable nappies also come with a wide variety of nappy wraps in all colours and patterns for practical but fun nappies.
