Designed in New Zealand where it is important to spend family time out in the beautiful countryside, the Metro is unfussy and with simple adjustments and as few straps as possible, making a lightweight, just 2kgs, but extremely tough back carrier for you and baby.
It is possible to use the Metro from the time baby can support their own head, around 4 months, although we would recommend that baby be carried in a front carrier for far longer than just 4 months if possible, as it is less easy to monitor baby and baby does not get the same contact with parent when high on your back. The Metro carrier can continue to be used until baby is 20kgs (44lbs) this is around 4 years, but you may wish them to walk a little by then!
The Metro has an alloy stand to make loading and unloading easy and after a little practise will be done single handed, but we would recommend some practice with a teddy before this is attempted with baby. This stand can be folded away to make the Metro flat, making storage or travelling with carrier easier.A range of pockets are around the carrier to hold drinks and other essentials, a changing mat and pocket to hold nappies is included, as is the sun cover with rollout rain flaps.
The adjustment between adults of different heights is easy, and the frame is covered with a mesh to prevent you from becoming too hot where the carrier touches your back. The baby has a fully adjustable harness to keep them safely in place and the carrier has reflective strips to make you visible during dark evenings. The fabric that the carrier has been produced from is tough, washable and waterproof.
