Potty Training Accessories
The main accessory for potty training is patience and plenty of it, although this can't be purchased there are a few items that can be to make the process a little easier.
Books relating to children who are going through the potty training phase with plenty of pictures are ideal, these can then be shared while the toddler sits on the potty, a favourite of my daughter was "I want my potty" by Tony Ross.
A doll that is able to go through the motions of using the potty is a reassuring way to guide your little one in the right direction, as is encouraging them to use the potty when you use the toilet, whether they need to or not let them go through the motions.
Protection Pads & Training Pants
A protective pad, a piddle pad is available, this is designed to fit into your child's car seat or buggy, this will protect fabrics from any accidents, these can also be useful to protect fabric dining chairs.
Training pants will give reassurance when venturing out on those first outings without a nappy, reverting to nappies or 'pull ups' that are absorbent can send the wrong message so once started it is best to see it through.
Travel Potty
Travel potties are compact enough to fit into the changing bag, or will neatly fit under the buggy, quickly assembled by pulling the outside edges to form a base; bags are then placed inside for easy disposal.
Easy Fit Clothing
This is essential if your toddler or child is to become independent, they must be able to remove trousers quickly and simply, so buttons, zips or belts prove difficult at this time. For little girls this is the time to get the wear out of those little dresses.
