The mattress base can be used in either of the two positions; the upper height is for the newborn baby, making placing baby into the cot easy, the lower position will be required when baby starts to move around and for their own safety need to be lower in the cot.
The Kerry cot is easily converted into a junior bed when your toddler decides that they do not wish to sleep in a cot any longer. When converting from the cotbed into the junior bed a separate end is used, this is supplied with the cot, giving a small bed with low foot end. When converted the junior bed will accommodate the growing child until around 5 to 6 years, as the overall size does not change, the mattress and bedding can continue to be used.
