The Recaro and STM Isofix system is classified as Semi Universal. A full list of approved vehicles can be found on the Recaro.com web site. This list is constantly updated and will give a good indication of whether it is compatible with your car. One of the main reasons that this base may not be compatible is if your car has a storage box in the floor – many Renaults have these!
The base is easily fitted to the mounting points in the car. These fittings are put in place at the time of manufacture and cannot be retro fitted, so it is important to do a physical check that they are fitted in the car before ordering.
Using the Isofix fittings provides a direct link between the vehicle bodyshell and the child seat so provides optimum protection.
The base will give clear indication that it is fitted correctly, showing green flashes; once the base is fitted the child seat is easily clipped into the base.
Young Profi and Twin 0+ . These are the infant car seats and will be fitted on to the base facing the rear of the car. The base moves backwards and forwards to allow these to clip in easily.
The Young Expert is the second stage seat. This will take the child from 9kg to 18kg around 4 years. This will be fitted to the base forward facing. When changing between seats the base can remain in the car.
If you have 2 cars it would be possible to have two bases but share the one car seat.
