The Indy car seat has been produced by Jane of Spain and is the result of extensive research at their own Crash Test Research Centre that opened in June 2003.
The Indy Team car seat has an aluminium frame that has been shown to perform up to 70% better than traditional seat structures, the Indy meets the new ECE R44/04 standard and was passed by an independent test laboratory, who are responsible for the strictest accreditation system in Europe.
The Indy seat is suitable for children from 15kg this is around 4 years, (weight is the criteria not age) and will go on to 36kg or around 12 years.
The seat is placed in the car without any requirement for special fittings, the child is placed on the seat and the car's seat belt is placed over both the child and the seat, passing through the Red guide on the Indy at shoulder height, this is height adjustable - moving as the headrest rises or lowers to ensure the optimum position of the seat belt. The side wings are also adjustable to accommodate the child’s build or perhaps bulky clothing.
The Indy seat cover has a quilted material, this offers comfortable padding and good air circulation for comfort even on longer journeys.
The lower booster cushion can be used alone to make a basic booster seat - although this greatly reduces the protection to the child it will conform to the new UK law.
