The Harmony is the manual breast pump in the Medela collection of breast pumps and would be recommended for very occasional use. The action of squeezing the trigger can make your hand ache quite quickly, so if you are planning to use a pump more than once a week we would recommend you look at one of the electric options.
The Harmony has advantages over other manual pumps, as it is able to mimic the feeding rhythm of baby, this allows the letdown to happen and increased milk flow. The ergonomic handle can swivel to make a more comfortable position. The breast shield is fitted with a massaging Softfit shield for maximum comfort.
The pump has fewer parts to assemble and clean than many pumps making it compact, portable and lightweight.
Baby can be fed from the bottle, or the milk can be stored in the bottle, this can be in the freezer for up to 1 year or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
The bottle comes complete with sealing disc and lid, and will accept the standard sized teats (not supplied). Medela milkstorage bags can be attached directly onto the pump - these bags have a standup base and an easy close zip top and can also be frozen.
