Feeding Equipment

Feeding equipment for a baby will take you from baby being totally helpless needing to be nursed and nurtured to almost completely independent.

Bottles

It will be necessary to have a few bottles, even if you breast feed, you may feel it is necessary to give small drinks of cooled, boiled water on hot days, it is also good to have baby familiar with the idea of a bottle and teat, in case it is necessary for mum and baby to be separated (possibly due to illness).

Feeding Equipment

Breast pumps may be part of your plan or may be required because of excess milk or a much needed night off. The range of breast pumps from Medela and Avent cater for the everyday user at home, when returning to work, or for the emergency one off use.

Which ever way your newborn baby is fed it will be necessary to have a steriliser, even if it's only for teethers and spoons. The ranges of options are from a basic coldwater system to a steam sterilisation unit.

Highchairs & Booster Seats

A highchair will make feeding time easier for yourself and baby, it should be comfortable but keep baby, or a naughty toddler secure, the highchair could be height adjustable this would allow you to feed baby while sitting or standing, and may be able to be used as a booster seat.

Booster seats are more compact than a highchair and designed to either be secured onto a table or dining chair. These are portable but will need to be carefully secured and may need an additional safety harness.

Bouncing & Rocking chairs

A bouncing and or rocking chair gives baby a comfortable place to sit in a semi reclined position while being harnessed in for safety. Their head is supported against soft fabric, putting no pressure on the skull, (helps to maintain a rounded head shape).
