Easy Fit Britax Toddler Car Seat
The Explora STS has been designed for the ease of fitting into the vehicle while having a large seating space to accommodate the growing child.
The Explora range of seats from Britax has been designed with great care, taking into account all the wishes of parents: - child safety, ease of fitting, comfort for the child and a size to take the toddler/child through to next car seat stage.
The Britax Explora collection comes with three methods of fitting:-
Explora (basic) is fitted using the adult seat belt and is tensioned by the person installing the seat (not very easy in a three door car).
Explora STS (Self Tensioning System) allows the seat to be easily fitted into the car, the routing for the seat belt is easily seen, and when the seat is dropped back into position the action tensions the seat belt to provide an easy but solid installation.
Explora Isofix this option is fitted using Isofix fittings, these fitting can be found in many modern cars these would need to have been installed in the vehicle at the time of manufacture.
Explora STS Fitting System
The tensioning system on the STS allows the person installing the seat to be able to see the seat belt routing clearly, ensuring a correct fit without the need of a great amount of strength. The shell of the seat is produced in two separate parts, the seat is placed in position in the car, a clip releases the front of the seat this then hinges forward leaving a clear space for the seat belt to be placed, once you are happy with the routing the front is dropped back into position as it does so the seat belt is automatically tightened to give a extremely secure fit.
Comfort
The seat has been padded to give the child a high level of comfort, while the sides have been extended to offer excellent side impact protection. The seat can be easily reclined to a choice of four different positions; the seating area has been designed to allow the child to travel in this safe environment until 18kgs around 4 years.
Harness
The five point harness has been padded to protect the child’s body during any impact, and has been fitted with a simple one-pull system ensuring a secure fit for every journey. When the harness is tightened a ‘smiley face’ will appear to inform you the correct tension has been achieved. When the harness is released the pair of retainers on the side of the seat will keep the harness out of the way ready for when you are placing the child back into the seat.
The harness has three height settings; the Explora STS needs to be removed from the car to make the adjustments as the child grows, or should the seat cover need to be removed for machine washing.
