When looking at travel cots the thing that may need to be considered is where you intend to use it the most, if you are planning to use it abroad and you intending to fly you will need to think of weight, many airlines now weigh all luggage, so it is worth checking the weights of travel cots before you purchase. Travel cots are also available in pop-up styles. These come in a range of sizes designed to take a newborn to around six months then another from six months. Pop up cots are ideal for trips to the beach or out on picnics, some also have optional U.V. protection covers to zip in.

Pop up cots are all very lightweight; having either having no metal framework at all or a lightweight aluminium tent style push-through framework, all folding into the small carrybag included.
