Child Safety Gates & Play Pens

Once baby starts to move, either crawling or shuffling, the home starts to become a very dangerous place. Yes we all plan to watch our baby at all times but we do need to answer phones or go to the toilet and it only takes a few seconds for a baby to find danger. Having a safe place to pop baby at these times can be invaluable. You could use a gate or room divider, this would allow you to make a whole area baby safe. Or another option simply is to place a playpen in the corner of a room that you spend most time in. This makes tiding up after bedtime easy because you can simply drop all the toys in, getting them off the floor.

Baby & Child Playpens

With a playpen you have a mobile safe place. It can put in the garden while you put the washing out, or do some gardening or it could be put on the landing while you do the beds. Some playpens double up as travel cots, this can be very cost effective and because baby is familiar with the cot they should settle better when away from home.

Baby Gates

Most gates available allow you to easily walk through, they can either be screwed to the wall or be pressure mounted. They come in a range of sizes and with additional parts will fit almost any situation. Made from wood, metal or fabric, some are semi permanent fixtures to your home; others can be put in place for the weekend and then quickly and easily packed away. If you are using a gate at the top of the stairs it is better not to have a pressure mounted gate, as to maintain the pressure you will need to step over the bottom bar, this can be awkward and dangerous, if you catch your toe or slipper you could fall down stairs with baby in your arms.
