Comfortable And Safe Baby Car Seat
High quality baby car seat allowing newborns to travel almost flat, as baby gets bigger becoming a large comfortable seat
Bebe Confort have always been at the forefront in the field of car safety, formally a French company, now part of the Dorel Group. The Bebe Confort range of seats are still designed, engineered and tested in the French factory. The French standard for child car safety had exceeded the UK standard; until the European standard was introduced to bring all standards into line. On any Bebe Confort car seat you will instantly notice the attention to detail of the padding, this not only makes sure the child is comfortable – therefore happy to sit in the seat, but protects the body from any impact, that could be sustained. We don't know of any other seats to exceed the Bebe Confort range.
The Creatis Fix has been produced to cocoon and protect a newborn almost within the shell of an egg; the outer shell has been designed to absorb any impact from front or side. It is always used in the car REAR-FACING and not with an active air bag, if an airbag is present, the back of the car is the safest place.
The Creatis is fitted with an easy to use 3-point harness; this can be adjusted from a single pull to be a perfect fit for each journey.
The covers are available in all the Bebe Confort colours to co-ordinate with their prams and pushchairs; the Creatis will fit simply onto any of the chassis in their collection, to form a travel system. The covers are removable for hand washing although they sponge easily for a small stain. The fabrics used are designed to keep baby cool and dry. It is supplied with a small hood to protect baby from the sun or street lighting.
Carry Handle
The carry handle has been carefully designed to be comfortable when carried. It allows your arm to stay inline with your body, causing less stress on your back, as baby gets heavier. It is easy to choose a car seat only by weight, but your baby will keep growing adding lbs every week, putting the weight of the seat into insignificance, although the Creatis is no heavier that any other child seat.
Fitting the Creatis
The fitting of the Creatis is slightly different from many infant carriers. The routing is under the seat, therefore using a shorter length of seat belt to secure into position. The quickest way to fit is to do the seatbelt up and place the Creatis on to the car seat (rear-ward facing), tuck the lap section of the seat belt through the space shown with blue spots, pull it tight and then place the diagonal belt around the seat through the other blue guide on the back of the shell. (You will find a full instruction guide supplied with the seat.)
Newborn
When you place a newborn baby into the seat you will immediately notice the flat position. This is achieved by the cushions that are secured in the 'well' in the bottom of the seat. The headrest is fully adjustable and when placed in the lowest position adds to the padding and support along baby's spine keeping baby comfortable and almost flat.
Older Baby
As baby grows, the headrest is gradually adjusted upwards towards the top of the seat, the extra padding in the bottom is removed and baby sinks into the seat. The shape of the front of the seat has been designed to kink baby's leg at the knee, this prevents baby from pushing against the car seat as they get bigger, often causing parents to think of moving baby to the next stage car seat far too early.
Rear-facing
Baby is much safer remaining in a rear-facing seat to the maximum weight of 13kgs with a fine-boned little girl this could be around 2 years. During an impact while rearward facing, baby’s head, neck and spine are all protected, but when put into a forward-facing seat the head is thrown forward with the neck and spine being put under pressure.
We have always liked the Creatis for it's cocoon-like protection and comfort and now with the new optional base it's ease of fitting.
A base is available as an optional extra.
