Cot Sheets
These come in a full range of sizes to fit mattresses from moses basket through to cotbed taking in cribs and cot on the way, you will probably need 4 to 5 sheets for the moses basket or crib if this is your baby's first bed. Once baby is in the cot or cotbed 2 or 3 will be sufficient.
Kind to Baby's Skin
When purchasing look for a high cotton content as this is kind to your baby's skin, but do bear in mind when reading the labels that the elastic used will not be made of cotton so therefore the cotton content may be listed as only 90% this takes into account the elastic.
Flat Sheets
Flat sheets are used to cover babies for warmth on hot nights, if baby is wearing a baby sleeping bag a sheet maybe all that is needed. When your child is out in the carrycot on hot days it is a good idea to cover them with a sheet to protect from any sun - a good quality flat sheet is excellent for UV protection.
A sheet or muslin placed on your changing mat can be useful in soaking up any little accidents saving the need for a complete change of clothes.
