It is important to protect the newborn and older baby from the hazard of cats. Cats will always find the warmest place to sleep and even if they take no interest in the baby who has become part of the family, when baby is asleep the cat may decide that the cot or pram is the perfect place for a nap. The cat means to cause no harm but baby will not be able to protect themselves from the cat - take no chances, a simple cat net placed over the baby’s bed will keep the cat at a safe distance.
The cat nets are designed with a large gauge netting when the cat tries to walk over the net its toes will go through the net causing the cat to feel unstable – an insect net will not work the cat could curl-up on the top of the insect net, causing the net to sink into the pram, crib or cot.
The cat net can be purchased in a range of sizes from small pram fitting carrycots, universal this will fit a seat unit of a pushchair, generous enough to cover the entire hood to the footrest, these nets have elasticated edges clinging to the shape.
Larger sizes for cot, travel cot and cotbeds, these are easily fitted with simple ties they cover the entire cot, preventing a small cat from slipping between the bars. By leaving the net covering the cot the cat will not be able to sleep in the cot when baby is not sleeping, preventing contamination from unwanted parasites.
