Rear Facing Baby Car Seat
Baby Car seat suitable from birth to around 12 months (13kg) fitted using your car's adult seat belts or using an optional base fitting with either seat belts or Isofix.
Fit Using a Base
The CabrioFix car seat is an adaptable seat that can be used with many chassis' to form a travel system. The fitting of the CabrioFix in the car is simple, you have the option to purchase a base that can be left fitted into the car, enabling you to simply place the CabrioFix onto the base with no fiddly belts or fittings, this is especially useful if you are needing others to look after baby, a seat fitted incorrectly can be more dangerous than no seat at all!
Fit Using Seat Belts
If the seat is fitted using the car's adult 3 point seat belt the blue guides clearly marked on the infant seat are easy to follow, but check the instruction manual anyway, the handle is always in the up-right position this is an important safety measure but usefully also gives a place for toys to be hung to entertain baby.
Should your car be fitted with Isofix fittings the Isofix base can be purchased - this will give a rigid fit of the Cabriofix with the chassis of your car.
Comfort
The CabrioFix has been built to give baby the optimum safety while travelling by car; it has not been designed to be used as a baby chair to be used for long periods in the home. The deep sides will protect from side impacts while the adjustable cushion will give support to the new born baby, offering a semi reclined position. A head hugger is included to help keep the tiny baby in a comfortable position; this should be removed at around 4 months.
A sun canopy can be found tucked into the back of the infant seat, this will prevent the sun or street lights getting into baby’s eyes; it extends to the handle attaching with two small loops.
To the back of the seat is a handy storage box this is where you will find the instruction manual and is perfect for a spare nappy, wipes etc.
Harness
The three point harness can be adjusted for each journey with a simple one pull, when removing baby from the seat it is recommended that the harness be released, a pair of clips have been placed on the side of the seat to keep the harness out of the way, this is very useful when placing baby into the seat for the next outing, when the buckle is correctly clipped together an audible click can be heard.
Optional Bases
The CabrioFix can be used in conjuntion with two different bases available to make fitting quick and easy.
The EasyBase is fitted using the standard 3-point adult seat belts, this makes fitting the seat in small 3 door cars quick and easy - eliminating the need to get into the back of the car when fitting or removing the seat. The fit of the base is straightforward and makes a good, rigid fit to the car seat; a foot drops from the base to the floor of the car to prevent any dipping movement.
The EasyFix base simply attaches to the Isofix fittings that you may have in the car - these cannot be retro fitted so it is important to do a physical check before ordering – many hand books refer to them, but they are often an option when the car is purchased new,to check run your hand down the crack of the car's seat if they are fitted you will feel them as a pair of steel loops welded to the car's body. - Attaching the base to the Isofix points is simple; a colour indicator will show that the installation has been carried out correctly. A support leg will drop to the floor this also has indicators for a correct fit; this leg prevents the seat dipping during any impact it should not prop the car seat up but simply rest against the floor pan.
