Pre-sterilised Breast Milk Storage Bags
These breast milk storage bags allow the easy storage of breast milk once it has been expressed. The bags are pre-sterilised and can be stored in the fridge or freezer.
It is always useful to have a small backup of breast milk, so if there are times when you find you have more milk than baby needs, you can express a little and store it. Breast milk can be stored in the freezer for 6 to 12 months, or kept in a fridge for 5 to 7 days.
The Medela Breast Milk Storage Bags are pre-sterilised and are ready to use. If you just need to relieve a little pressure from over-engorged breasts hand express the milk into a small sterile jug (thoroughly washed and submerged in cooled boiled water). From this you will easily be able to fill the bag, seal and date, then decide on where it needs to be stored.
If you are using a Medela breast pump the bags will fit directly onto the pump. The bags are made from a special plastic that retains the breast milk's beneficial properties, and have a double wall for long and safe storage and a leak proof zipper top.
