Baby shawls have traditionally been used to wrap or swaddle a newborn. Babies find this comforting - having spent the first months of life in a very confined space at just the right temperature - wrapping or swaddling is the best way we have to bring back and reproduce this feeling. Traditional Shawls
The traditional shawl is a square made from fine cotton or wool but acrylic's are now available making them easier to machine wash.
Modern Shawls
